Namaste/ Servus/ Hello!
I’m Shruti. I’m a 26 year old from Dehradun, India.
Yes, I quit my job back home. No, it wasn’t just to travel around the world.
I wanted to study, work and learn more about the German language and culture, that made me sell most of my spare belongings, pack my life in two suitcases and move from India to Germany a little over a year ago. I have previously lived in Poland, Indonesia and now call Germany my second home. If you want to know more about why I moved, read my original post here.
I believe in the concept of slow and meaningful travel and I’m in no rush to see X countries in the world. I believe in enjoying life through the lens of cautious and sustainable travel and that’s what I’ll continue to do for as long as I can. If you want to know my secrets of how I managed to travel and save enough to move abroad before I turned 25, read my post here.
When I’m not studying towards my second Master degree (I already have an MBA from IIM Bangalore), I’m building this blog to help fellow wanderers to decide whether a life abroad is really meant for them, how to navigate the various intricacies of being a non-European foreigner in Germany, how to learn the German language and how to include traveling in one’s life plans in more ways than one. I also share my travel and life hacks hoping to inspire people to live life outside their comfort zone, even if it is one baby step at a time.
You can follow my daily adventures on Facebook or Instagram! I’m also running a FB group for budding/active female travellers and bloggers to ask, discuss, share our travels and support each other. A lot of your questions about living in Germany, I may have already answered on Quora. I send bi-monthly updates to my email followers with special travel tips, life updates and freebies so don’t forget to subscribe by email to stay in touch! 🙂
